KARACHI: The worst power crisis is still on the rampage in the cosmopolitan city, as a large part of the city is divested of power supply even after the lapse of 48 hours. This forced the citizens to stage protest demonstrations.It should be mentioned here the power supply to large areas of the metropolis was suspended as a result of catastrophic downpours that started on Friday-Saturday night. But, even after the lapse of 48 hours, several areas of city are still deprived of the power supply.The power is still cut off in many areas including Mehmoodabad, Baloch Colony, Defence, Gizri, Boat Basin, PECHS, Kharadar, Golden Town, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulshan-e-Iqbal and Saddar.However, the KESC officials in their daily briefing said they are not sure when the power supply would be restored to the affected areas.The power consumers are facing double trouble due to the absence of electricity, as they are suffering from shortage of water.The citizens kept on staging protests all day long against the worst power crisis.
