Zardari Will Meet Nawaz in Raiwind Today

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari will meet Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nawaz Sharif at a luncheon in Lahore today (Friday).Presidential spokesman Farhatullah Babar confirmed President Zardari would be visiting Raiwind on Friday for a meeting with Nawaz Sharif.
He said President Zardari believed the doors of dialogue and negotiations must always be kept open in a democratic system. He said dialogue and discussion among political forces was also necessary to strengthen democratic institutions and discourage undemocratic forces from exploiting and taking advantage of real or perceived differences between political parties and leaders. President Zardari is looking forward to a productive and useful meeting with the PML-N Quaid, Babar added.
Talking to media men here, the PML-N leader said that there was no formal agenda, however, matters related to constitutional amendments would be discussed.
He said that some incomplete tasks including revocation of 17th Amendment and other important issues would be discussed in the meeting of the president and Quaid PML-N.
Commenting on outcome of the meeting, Pervaiz Rashid said that the meeting would move forward reconciliation process between PML-N and PPP, adding there has been contact between the two parties.
Responding to a question, Senator Pervaiz Rashid said that the issue of Local Bodies System has been settled and unlikely to be discussed in the meeting.
