Shumaila’s resignation accepted in Credit cards scandal,
LAHORE, Pakistan: Acting Speaker at Punjab Assembly Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan Saturday accepted the resignation of Punjab MPA Shumaila Rana of Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N).
Shumaila Rana, who is involved in credit cards theft case, wrote in her resignation letter that she is resigning from her seat on the directives from party’s leadership, adding she fully complies with the discipline, rules and regulations laid out by party’s leadership; therefore, her resignation should be accepted.
Later on speaking at a press conference here, Mashhood said the vacant seat of Shumaila Rana is exclusively PML-N’s right; but, as the party has no covering candidate to fill the seat reserved for women, therefore, party has decided to go to Election Commission and the court.
