• Jamat-e-Islami terms legal action against Musharraf


    LAHORE, Pakistan: Ameer Jamat-e-Islami (JI) Syed Munawar Hasan said taking legal action against former President Pervez Musharraf over imposition of emergency on November 3, 2007 and twice disruption of constitution as most fortunate.
    He was addressing the gathering on the occasion of Friday prayer here at Jama Mansoora on Friday.
    He said Supreme Court (SC) has set a great example by letting the guilty prove his innocence adding that July 28 is not so far and the people of Pakistan will testify whether Musharraf faces court or not.
    Nation should also be apprised of the nature of National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) and who are involved in it, he demanded adding that Chief Justice of Pakistan must also take notice of those missing people who were allegedly handed over to US having been kidnapped from parts of Pakistan.
    JI has launched drive against US by the label ‘Go America Go’ and we can throw US out of our region through peoples’ participation, he concluded.
